Howdy y’all,
work is almost over this week
Tomorrow is going to start really relaxing. Get up at about 9:00 or 9:30 AM, maybe go for a swim in our swimming pool, then English Breakfast at Diane’s (she could’ve just stopped smoking, but nooo) and somewhere around noon, we’ll leave for Dallas (trip with the whole group). More about that later, now the adventures of today…
Had an interesting guest speaker this morning, covering some of the financial things we have to consider for our business plans. He was very enthousiastic, but he seemed an angry old man (he probably should in the financial world, scaring the competition). Then continue our work on our Vision Documents (deadline) and the business plan.
For lunch we went to Penland for the 2nd time, Ingo hadn’t been there yet, and ate as much as we could since it’s an all you can eat kinda place. Lots of cheerleaders there, but too young for us to be of any interest, that’s too bad.
Later that afternoon Mary picked us up for the remainder of the Challenge Course (that team building thing we didn’t get to finish the 2nd day). So here came the high structures of the course, no one afraid of heights? I don’t know, it went great. But it sures is a weird experience to stand on top of a 6 meter high poal (paal in het nederlands) and then having to step to the next poal with nothing to hold onto, and the poals are wiggly. It was fun! Ashame we didn’t get to do all of it
Next up was another poal, even higher, we had to climb and stand on top of the small platform on top of it with 2 people. A third person wouldn’t have fit on it. This poal was also wiggly, but we had a nice view up there
Then the two of us on top of the poal had to jump to a trapeze and hold on to it. The trapeze was about 6 feet (2 meter) away and hanging in the air in front of us. So we had to jump simultaneously to be able to both get a grip on it, but unfortianately some of us just fell simultaneously
The trapeze slips so easily through your hands. Weird, but very great thing to do.
More happened today, and more info will come here soon, but we’re being kicked out of Common Grounds where we’re sitting at the moment, so I’ll write the rest later. It just closes too early :s
Write ya later!
